Research interestsI work in the field of stochastic processes, and am interested in the ideas of coupling and stochastic stability, and their application to perfect simulation. At present I am particularly interested in understanding the differences (and similarities) between maximal couplings and optimal co-adapted couplings, especially for random walks on groups.
If you are interested in studying for a PhD at York, then here is a list of possible projects within the statistics group. Alternatively, I am always happy to receive enquiries from good students interested in working in any area connected to my research interests. Recent publicationsSubmitted2010
