Professor Ed Corrigan Summary:Mathematics may be applied in a vast array of situations. The first step is usually to translate the problem into mathematical language (often having to make some assumptions concerning what is important, at least at the first try, and what is not). The second step will be to use appropriate mathematical techniques to solve the problem, and this often means determining the evolution of a system over time. |
