In addition, in the Autumn Term you take
And in the Spring/Summer terms you take
Altogether you obtain a total of 120 credits in Mathematics. These module are designed to give you a firm foundation across all areas of mathematics, and provide a platform for specialisation in an increasing proportion of statistics over your three years at the University. Second YearAutumn Term: you take Statistics I MAT00010I (10 credits), Applied Probability MAT00001I (10 credits) and Introduction to Group Theory MAT00006I (10 credits). Spring/Summer Terms: you take Statistics II MAT00011I (20 credits), Complex Analysis and Integral Transforms MAT00003I (20 credits) and Linear Algebra MAT00008I (20 credits). In addition you choose 30 credits of optional modules from
Up to 20 credits of the optional modules may be replaced with elective modules from other Departments, but you should be aware of any implications this may have for your choice of modules in the final year. The elective must be at I-level. Altogether you obtain 120 credits. Third YearYou take the Final Year Project MAT00004H (which must be on a statistics-related topic), together with the following compulsory modules: Autumn Term:Bayesian Statistics MAT00003H (10 credits) and Generalised Linear Models MAT00017H (10 credits) Spring Term: Financial Time Series (H level) MAT00038H (10 credits) and Multivariate Analysis MAT00021H (10 credits) In addition, you choose 40 credits from the remaining third year modules, subject to the necessary prerequisites, but please note the following:
Up to 20 credits of optional modules may be replaced with elective modules from other Departments, subject to the above constraints concerning the total number of credits in each term. The elective must be at H-level. Altogether you obtain 120 credits. |
