New faces in the Department
The following postdoctoral researchers have recently joined the Department:

Marie Curie Research Fellow Dr Giuliana Indelicato, from the University of Torino and Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, has joined YCCSA (Mathematics) for two years to work with Professor Reidun Twarock on models that describe and predict the structural transitions in viruses that are important for infection.

PierrePhilippe Dechant from the University of Cambridge joins Professor Reidun Twarock's Mathematical Virology group at the Department of Mathematics and YCCSA to work on applications of Lie algebra theory and particle physics to virology.

Dr Elena Ushakova, Senior Researcher from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Khabarosk, joins the Department of Mathematics for two years as a Marie Curie Experienced Research Fellow to work with Dr Simon Eveson in Operator Theory and Functional Analysis.

Dr Alessandro Torrielli joins the Department of Mathematics to work with Dr Niall MacKay and Professor Evgeny Sklyanin FRS on the EPSRCfunded project Nonultralocality and new mathematical structures in quantum integrability.

Dr Charles Young also joins the Department of Mathematics to work with Dr Niall MacKay and Professor Evgeny Sklyanin FRS on the the EPSRCfunded project Nonultralocality and new mathematical structures in quantum integrability.

Dr Dirk Zeindler, from the University of Zurich, joins the Department of Mathematics for one year as Swiss National Science Foundation Research Fellow working on random matrices, representation theory and probability theory with Dr Chris Hughes.
