About me

I'm a third year PhD student in the department of Mathematics in the University of York, working under Eli Hawkins. I'm funded by the EPSRC.

Before moving to York, I spent most of my life in London, where I studied at Imperial College.

Research interests

I'm interested in Quantization, partcularly that of symplectic orbifolds and groupoids, and the geometry of Lie algebroids and Poisson structures.

Teaching and marking

Last year I did seminars for Linear Algebra, this year I'm marking assignments for the same course.

Postgraduate Seminars

Together with Benjamin Lang I coorganise (organise with all the arrows reversed) the Postgraduate seminars. See the webpage for more information and upcoming talks.

MAGIC

The university of York is one of 19 universities belonging to the MAGIC network, funded by the EPSRC and the member universities. The network runs a number of graduate courses that students can watch live and interact with the lecturer via Acces Grid technology.  I found the lectures extremely useful and attended or partly attended the following courses:

·         MAGIC 008 Lie Groups and Lie Algebras

·         MAGIC 009 Category Theory

·         MAGIC 048 Complex Differential Geometry

·         MAGIC 061 Pure Functional Analysis

·         MAGIC 028 Geometric Structures on Surfaces and Teichmuller Space

·         MAGIC 040 Operator Algebras

·         MAGIC 062 Applied Functional Analysis

·         MAGIC 064 Algebraic Topology

·         MAGIC 073 Commutative Algebra

·         MAGIC 074 Algebraic Geometry
