Mathematics in James College Nucleus

Directions

The University of York is in the eastern part of the city of York. The University maps and directions website for visitors is available here giving brief details on how to get here by train, car, bus or bike.  The University travel and transport webpage giving futher information is located here. For a brief guide on getting to York from UK airports see further down this page.

The Department of Mathematics is located in James College Nucleus, building J2 on the James College, Psychology and the Sports Centre map. The Mathematics Department is housed in the building renamed as James College Nucleus.  We have not moved!  Goodricke College is now a residential block on the new Heslington East Campus.  The Departmental Office is located on the first floor in room G/N/127 (the G stands for Old Goodricke and all rooms with numbers above 99 are on the first floor) and office staff can be contacted by telephone on (43)3070.  James College Porters are located at the front of the Roger Kirk Centre and can be contacted by telephone on (43)3100. Mathematics Office staff or James porters can telephone the member of staff you are visiting or give you directions to their office.

The campus is designed and laid out so that it should take 10 minutes or less to walk from any location to any other location. This may give you some idea of the scale of the map and the campus.

If you are coming by car then you can use the car park to the south of James College Nucleus.

Keys for University accommodation booked in Franklin House are available from Alcuin College Reception. Keys for accommodation booked in Wentworth College are available from Wentworth Porters Lodge.  Wentworth and Alcuin Colleges are open 24 hours, 7 days a week. See here for information on finding short term accommodation in York.
