We work over a wide range of specialised interests in the areas of pure mathematics (including algebra, geometry, analysis, number theory, stochastic analysis and probability), applied mathematics (including continuum mechanics, mathematical physics, mathematical biology, mathematical chemistry, continuum mechanics and stochastic analysis and mathematical finance), and statistics (including Bayesian Statistics, Big Data Analysis, Biostatistics, Medical Statistics and Health Economics, Financial Statistics and Econometrics, and Nonparametric Statistics).
The Department has research links with Biology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Electronics, Economics, Health Sciences, Physics, Psychology, with the York Centre for Complex Systems Analysis and the York Informatics Group.
