Quantum Information Seminar

This seminar deals with topics of interest to people working in quanum information and the foundations of quantum mechanics. On a regular basis, it brings together researchers from three departments of the university: Computing, Physics, and Mathematics.

The seminar is held on Mondays of Wks 2 to 9  in the autumn and spring terms and from Wks 2 to 6 of the summer term.  This year, we meet from 13:15 - 14:05 in the room G/001 in James College.

If you want to receive weekly announcements, please subscribe to the list Maths-Quantum-Information-Seminar on this page.

On a connection between incompatibility and nonlocality

Series:
Quantum Information Seminar
Date and time:
May 7, 2012, 13:15
Speaker:
Neil Stevens
Room:
G/001

Neil will give an overview of his PhD research to date. A recent result of Wolf et al (PR 2009) on a connection between incompatibility of quantum effects and the detectability of nonlocality via Bell inequality violations is extended to General Probabilistic Models and this extension is illustrated in the PR box model.
