York has a large and friendly mathematical physics group with a wide range of research interests and an international outlook, with graduate students and researchers from many countries choosing to work here. EPSRC grant success


Research group:

Niall MacKay and Evgeny Sklyanin FRS have been awarded £355,702 by the EPSRC for a project ‘Nonultralocality and new mathematical structures in quantum integrability’. The project includes two postdoctoral researchers and a PhD studentship and runs from 2009 to 2012

The main areas of research are Quantum Gravity, Quantum Field Theory and Integrable Models, Quantum Information and Foundations of Quantum Mechanics, and Quantum Groups.

The group has two seminars every week. These are very lively with many questions and active participation by the graduate students.
